The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (CENER) is the Spanish’s primary laboratory for renewable energy and research and development (R&D). CENER has a cutting-edge technological infrastructure, with the most modern laboratories and facilities worldwide. The mission of the wind energy research conducted at CENER’s Wind Turbine Laboratory (LEA) is to perform test and collaborate with industry to further wind technology and to accelerate its commercialization in the marketplace. The LEA wind energy research capabilities include our own power train and blade testing infraestructure, an experimental wind farm in complex terrain and the materials laboratory for blades that are ahead of the curve.
The center’s experienced staff, unique research capabilities, technology transfer and specialized state-of-the-art equipment, provide industry partners and stakeholders with technical support from the laboratory to the marketplace. The CENER’s research has contributed to many wind industry success projects and the development of commercially successful utility-scale wind power plants.
